Environment

Shaw is innovative and experienced, with our environmental systems and management plans meeting statutory regulations.

Our Environmental Management System is focused on the identification of potential environmental aspects and their impacts and the development of suitable control and/or preventive measures, including employee training, establishment of on-site protective measures and regular monitoring, inspection and auditing.

Internally, our own environmental performance and management systems ensure that wherever Shaw is engaged the work is carried out to the highest standards, minimising environmental effects during construction, improving the environment and on-going monitoring of environmental impacts. Our environmental management system is certified to AS/NZS ISO 14001.

Shaw’s environmental procedures are second to none, with some of our recent projects taking out the Civil Contractors Federation Earth Awards in Tasmania for innovative and environmentally-friendly project design and delivery. These awards recognise Shaw’s commitment to delivering environmentally challenging construction projects with an eye for a small development footprint and innovative environmental solutions for the client and community.

Shaw continues to adopt a pro-active approach ensuring that total compliance is achieved with environmental management requirements with all projects. We have positioned ourselves to specialise in projects, which are designed to deal with existing environmental problems such as wastewater and solid waste disposal facilities, and in the rehabilitation of contaminated sites.
